A beachside wedding in Cancun.

Man oh man, I've been a lot of places in the world, but never to Cancun. That changed for the first time in June of 2022. From the moment I touched down from Dallas, I was greeted with warm air and beautiful, sunny skies. I did the usual, went through customs and collected my luggage, eager to make the trek to the resort. On the way, I really wasn't sure what to expect, as the highway from the airport to the resorts is covered with lush greenery, leaving much to be discovered down the grand resort entrances. Not gonna lie, I felt like I was uber-important, as we had to go through about 2 different layers of security, and had a super long pathway before we even got the resort in eyesight. Once that happened, I knew it was going to be an amazing experience. Blake & Morgan got married at Secrets Maroma Beach Rivera Cancun, which is a warm and cozy, adults-only resort with rippling fountains and beige marbles framed with deep wood.

Wishing you were there yet?! I highly recommend any newlyweds to take their honeymoon there, or go just for the heck of it.

The day of, we had a rain forecast which is fairly typical for any tropical destinations. Wedding photographer colleagues, make sure you put your gear outside for about 30-45 minutes to get it acclimated to the humidity. I don't want you to panic when everything is foggy. Only the condensation!

Morgan and Blake had a beautiful first look under the canopy, with loving friends and family watching on. Once it was time to head down to the ceremony, we crossed our fingers for the rain to hold off, so we could hear the crashing waves as they made their commitment to each other. With about 2 minutes left, I and the entirety of the guests could see a large storm coming off of the ocean. With 30 seconds to spare, I kid you not, there was a downpour immediately after they made it down the aisle. Thankfully, the most important people didn't get soaking wet. I did, but yay for Pelican cases and guests who throw towels and umbrellas at me to keep my gear dry, amirite?!

All in all, the day was absolutely magical and filled with tons of love and laughter. I was so honored to be there, and can't wait to see them continue to grow in love.
